Headline "OpenAI ist 157Mrd$ wert" heißt in Wirklichkeit: etwa 5-6 Investoren denken, dass die Firma so viel wert sei.
#OpenAI hat im Moment 250 Millionen weekly users, davon 11 Millionen Personen und 1 Millionen Firmen die Geld bezahlen. Gerade wurden von Investoren 6,5 Milliarden Dollar in die Firma gepumpt, die sie natürlich auch gerne irgendwann wieder mit Gewinn zurück hätten.

Das sind 542 Dollar pro zahlendem Nutzer oder Firma (ja ich hab die jetzt mal zusammen geworfen). Aber so einfach ist die Rechnung ja nicht, denn das Investment geht ja nur über einen winzigen Anteil von OpenAI. Der Return muss also entsprechend deutlich höher ausfallen.

I will not call a pre-trained #LLM / #AI model that you can run on your own machine an "open source" model. It's simply the wrong term.
You effectively download a binary blob. You don't get any of the sources. You can't see how the sausage was made. You can't modify it (yes, I know about LoRA, not what I mean). You can't meaningfully learn how it was made. "open source" as a term sets a pretty low bar, and these models don't even clear that.
I will die on this hill.

Open Source Community auf #Matrix. ~5 technisch *sehr* versierte Personen rätseln, warum einer plötzlich keine Nachrichten der Anderen entschlüsseln kann.
Matrix ist nicht alltagstauglich.
Wenn eine Reihe von Informatikern und Open Source Contributors deine Fehlermeldungen nicht entziffern kann, dann ist das einfach *schlecht*. Da gibt's keine sinnvolle Ausrede. Dann hast Du einfach nur einen vollumfänglichen Fail hingelegt. Dann gibt's auch einfach nix mit "naja RTFM" zu wollen. Das ist Scheiße und muss als solche benannt werden.

Ich hätte gerne mehr Politiker*innen die statistisch gesehen in der ersten Hälfte ihres Lebens sind. Maximal vielleicht im mittleren Drittel.
Menschen, die etwas langfristiges aufbauen und nicht einfach nur Besitzstand und Status Quo wahren wollen.
