A few weeks ago this girl complained at length about the lack of tasty food in her life. In an act of desperation I poured a tablespoon of water over her wet food and told her it was gravy. It's now her favorite meal. If she finishes her gravy before the food is gone she waits for more to be added before finishing her meal. #Caturday #OldCatsNewTricks

@npub1zdp…vqv8 As long as SCOTUS maintains it’s majority opinion from Citizens United we’re facing an uphill battle. (They’re the ones who decided that money equals free speech and overturned the 1907 law limiting campaign contributions by corporations.)
We could however take action to increase transparency in PAC donations. Knowing who is pushing certain candidates and ballot measures is important. Removing dark money would help.

@npub19dj…n6qc Originally it was a non-partisan issue and had broad support. (We've had vote by mail for local elections since the 1980's and it expanded from there.) Unfortunately the GOP drive to restrict voting nationally has gained popularity amongst the "we want minority rule" set here too.
#VoteByMail is a gift. I was thrilled when we started it and I've been grateful every election since.

GOP bills in the #Oregon Legislature:
SB1536 - impose a 15 week abortion ban.
HB4037 - make gender-affirming care for youth illegal.
HB4054 - allow discrimination against trans athletes.
SB1589 - attack our vote-by-mail system and make it harder for people to vote.
Contact your state representatives and make it clear a majority of Oregonians oppose these bills.

@npub1w5z…mqaf @npub1zhm…2dea @npub19fc…ay3c Sweeps are part of that fuedalistic mindset. The idea that people who are struggling to get by sleeping rough don't deserve to keep their belongings. We send in police to steal their medications, extra clothing, bedding, any extra food they may have AND sometimes things like Identification that are needed to find work , housing, assistance. These repeated thefts set people back. It's sickening.

@npub12ze…hunm My HP laptop, about 5 years old now, recently pushed me a message that I can no longer get firmware updates. It offered to help me select a new laptop. 🤦‍♀️ I may put Linux on it and see if I can get firmware updates for a bit longer that way.
