PSA: If y'all are trying to opt out of Meta/Facebook using your data for AI training, but find the direct links published by the various watchdogs don't work, you can probably find links that DO work here:

... there is probably a separate page for objecting to Instagram content getting harvested. The Instagram privacy policy seems like a good place to look.
(I suspect Facebook breaks the direct links on purpose. I would if I were in their evil shoes...)

I bought my 8yo a used bicycle the other day, to replace the one she has outgrown.
The new bike has hand-brakes and 6 gears. And a kick-stand!
Suddenly I understand why kid bikes have foot-brakes. The grip strength required to squeeze yourself to a halt is non-trivial! She's not really ready.
But she's still too big for the old bike, so I spent over an hour yesterday adjusting the brakes to make them easier for her to use. I think I succeeded, a bit?
Now I understand bike brakes! #dadtoot

I usually don't use an IDE when programming, let alone an LLM copilot.
When doing DIY, the only power tool I use regularly is a drill.
I am very bad at delegating tasks to other people.
All of these preferences limit my productivity in material ways. But I just like doing things without too much augmentation... I can't really explain why? I just like the simplicity? And the feeling that it's me doing the thing, not the tool?
Does this resonate with anyone?

I was reminded of the Tove Lo "high all the time" song the other day, and it made me curious about her other music.
Turns out she's pretty awesome! It's very dance-friendly pop, but her lyrics have an edge which I like.
Some of her early career stuff is even more up my alley (less pop, more rock), but not much of that seems to have made it to the streaming era.
Those Swedes. They're so good at everything!

I truly wish we lived in a world where "men's rights activist" wasn't a synonym for "rape apologist incel".
Men are great, men have issues. We are doing a downright abysmal job discussing both of those truths right now.
I'm so happy to see it discussed - but the irony that it's a woman discussing it so eloquently is not lost on me. :-D

Forcing users to restart to install updates is such an idiotic anti-pattern.
The app has been running a long time, because I am using it! It has been running a long time because it is stable and doing its job!
But you want to interrupt my work-flow and force me to restart - to install whatever potentially de-stabalizing changes you've decided to push this week? And you think you're helping?
If it weren't for security paranoia overriding common sense...
