I had a pair that I tried the last time I made a shoe switch- probably 2017, and I liked them. I just looked at their current model- the gtx looks very similar to the asics sole which I like. I will check them out further! Thanks for the suggestion!

Running achievement unlocked!
I have discovered that the towing harness I use for sled pull runs in the winter does a fantastic job of pulling a bicycle and pacer when they have tired of pacing me on my long run. I imagine this is what huskies feel like pulling a sled on wheels for the first time! So much fun!

Post-run walk with the pooch. She came and met me on the hill! ❤️ Last elevation run for this training block! 1023m of climbing. One more long run tomorrow and then time to taper! The coldest long run of the training block with a humidex of 31. As indicated by pup, it was warm!
Wore my new shoes, toenails were much happier, still a few hot spots from the downhills. Next race is the last with any significant elevation for the year, so the feet just need to hang in there a little longer!

Bangladesh represented by daal. This was probably the simplest and easiest dish of the adventure so far. Aside from the spice blend, the least number of ingredients. But it was so good! Definitely one of the favourites. Definitely a dish that will feature again soon!

Pup's first cycling adventure! I modified the double stroller to accommodate the pup and added a pup seat belt. The snack pockets on the sides hold her travel water dish perfectly! As if it was destined to be! The stroller has a new purpose and now we can go on bike adventures with the whole crew! She preferred having the window up so she could watch over my right shoulder.

Tasty and easy to make! Making flatbread is time consuming but I am getting more efficient every time I make it. The meat was easy and so delicious. I was pleasantly surprised that I found dried lime in the first shop I went to! Lovely to discover a new-to-me grocery store in the neighbourhood. I always wonder throughout this food adventure, if I were from the country that the food I am cooking is from, how welcome I would feel in Ottawa, based on the availability of familiar foods. Not all recipes have been equally easy to source ingredients for.

I don't often see many masks at the grocery store or on transit. I am worried about the long term effects on individuals and society. But we can protect ourselves, our loved ones, and set an example.

The Bahamas are represented by corned beef and rice. This recipe took a little longer as making the corned beef took about a week. Worth the wait. First time making corned beef and really pleased with the results. So good!

Pup encountered a cat for the first time. Pup was not a fan. The cat walked towards us, arched its back, and started hissing. Clearly this is the cat's sidewalk. Pup got the message! She wanted to be as far away from cat as possible.
If you are missing your grey cat, they were guarding the sidewalk on the east side of Greenbank Road between Craig Henry and Banner.

Argentina represented by choripán! Choripán is a portmanteau of chorizo and pan (bread in Spanish). I did not make the sausage, they are store bought from Quebec. But I made the mini baguettes (the rest of the bread is cooling on the racks at the top of the frame), the chimichurri sauce with fresh oregano from my garden, and the caramelized onions. Delicious!

The cherry blossoms have passed and the lilacs are now in bloom! Beautiful sunny run today. So many birds around. This week running, I have seen four great egrets, a green heron, baby goslings with their Canadian parents, Mallard ducklings with mom, cormorants, and so many red winged blackbirds! I am enjoying the last few runs of my taper! Almost go time!

Popping into the month of #MeMade with a #DogsOfMastodon make!
Pup's new red collar was whipped up by me this afternoon with material and hardware that had been salvaged from broken items. The clasps and D ring came from a puppy carrier that didn't last and the material was a strap on a reusable bag with a short lifespan. Anything that breaks, if I can't repair it, I salvage whatever I can for future projects.
Quite pleased with this! A quick and satisfying make! The other day I also made a big pillow, hemmed a blanket, and I sewed a headlamp onto my waist pack belt for an upcoming race. I will still wear a headlamp but it's nice to have a backup that lights up the ground right in front of me without looking down.

Puppy when I am doing my own yoga practice. In stark contrast to the excitement of the puppy when I am trying to record myself teaching a yoga class!
Testing set ups, volume, and editing. Did a trial of a low to the ground class. Pup spent half the time licking my face and toes and the other half putting out her paw for scritches and love. And flopping on top of me to snuggle! Maybe she thought I was talking to her! Good test run, she got excluded from the second round of testing!
Slowly getting there - almost have the set up in place. Waiting for the trial edit to render. Then I can start recording more classes. I am looking forward to sharing some online yoga classes on kofi soon! Hatha, vinyasa, yin, and restorative!
