How much he’s loved and how big his rallies are, are his kryptonite. He can’t be anything *but* that b/c of his narcissism that’s now coupled with dementia.
She did a psy-ops job on him for the ages, and she’ll be able to do it again easily. I can’t see him or his handlers giving her a second chance to do that again.

1. Stop giving the customers what you think we “should” want (AI-equipped everything, clickbait widgets, and ads popping up in our damn start menus)
2. Start giving us what we in fact thought we were paying you for (flexibility, stability, safety, security, and support)
3. Then and only then will we give a 🐀 🫏 about how and where to work AI into the mix. (2/2)

How will MSFT prevent that from happening? And will hardware vendors also set their system’s NPU to disabled state out of the box, and fire off a TPM-like alarm or pause the boot process when its state changes? (2/2)

Opt-in isn’t enough. If the feature is in fact in a disabled-by-default state, and can be left that way without destroying OS or application functionality, and in fact doesn’t capture *anything* when disabled, there’s one more question: If it can be enabled or disabled in software, then a malicious actor may be able to write their own malware or use existing/updated C&C botnets to flip the feature on without the user’s knowledge. We can’t control what others do, but we can (and I think are) providing a decent alternative to corporate social media that has easily reached critical mass. Our task is to continue being better — and if “product” and “quality” and “experience” are the driving forces rather than “engagement” and “addiction” and “profit”, then were doing something right.
