the specific issue I’m thinking of is that it would require changes to the current first-in-first-out queue they use
changes they’re already used to for in-store pickup orders, but they’d need to translate that system to the drive-through, and corporate inertia is a pain

honestly that’s pretty… logistically interesting. probably in the bad way where restaurants wouldn’t do it because they’d have to reorganize the whole thing
it could probably make things more efficient overall but at the expense of having a lot of angry customers causing problems

because stores with drive-throughs do most of their sales through the drive-through, so this would cut down on employee time working the drive-through
pretty sure this is meant solely for that, not for anything inside the store
