Thinking about all the amazing pro-labor bangers that came out in 1980 and how much worse labor in the US has gotten. Working 9 to 5 with 15min breaks and a 30min lunch sounds pretty great compared to today where people work 9 to 6 or whenever then eat through their Zoom meetings under threat of mass layoffs.

The majority of people browse the web without an ad blocker. They see obtrusive ads, newsletter popups, cookie notices. These things are holding the web back just like popups did in the ’00s. This is driving people away from the web platform to apps.
If you work on the web platform or have the power to change this behavior for your corner of the web, I strongly encourage you to confront this issue instead of just installing an ad blocker to ignore it.

@npub1683…f0qg Deaths going up while injuries are going down seems to indicate the vehicles are more deadly. If distracted driving were the issue I’d assume deaths and injuries would be increasing in proportion to each other.

If you’re setting optical sizes in :safari: Safari, be sure to stay within the boundaries of what your font supports or else it will revert back to a value of 12!
If you’re setting this value dynamically, you can manage this with clamp like so: `font-variation-settings: 'opsz' clamp(9, var(--value), 48)`

@npub1683…f0qg Are there any centralized multi-purpose heat pump systems that push hot stuff to hit things (water heater, home heating, dryer) and cold stuff to cold things (freezer/fridge, AC)?
If a heat pump hot water heater is like “a refrigerator in reverse” why not put the two together. With HVACs and mini splits we already pump the heat through walls.
