It’s good to ruffle some feathers now and again. Those who can’t handle another person’s opinion that doesn’t rhyme with their own and start calling you names are usually the ones that mute and block you. This saves you the trouble of having to do it and helps filter out content you’re probably not interested in either. I love #mastodon and federated social media.

@nprofile…atz4 because I assumed you’d think it a welcome suggestion and I first did a quick check to see if it supports bluray and it should. I have used HandBrake many times so I know it’s the go to tool. I haven’t used it for bluray in particular because I don’t have the hardware.

A bit of an annoying trend I’ve started to notice here on #Mastodon and the #Fediverse lately is people posting pictures of text with content I’m not really interested in to see or read. But due to it being a picture and not parsable text, content filters don’t apply. Why would one deliberately go through this trouble, reducing (self) #moderation effectiveness and waste a bunch of extra bytes in the process?

@nprofile…jpfa hi Roni, I’m curious do you mark the Finnish posts as Finnish language or is it set to English? Or does your Mastodon client not offer an option for that? I’m checking because I think I’ve set my client to filter out posts in languages I don’t (yet) understand, but I still see them. Sometimes it’s because people forget to set the language. The fragmentation is a bit inconvenient though. Now I have to check #X, #mastodon, #bluesky and #nostr to stay in the loop. Perhaps it’s worth considering an aggregator app. One Ring to bring them all and I the darkness bind them.

Maybe I’m getting better exposure to more varied content due to how the federation process works and recent boosts and hashtag mentions, but I’ve definitely seen more general tech stuff pass by as opposed to the overly preachy political content I’ve become used to on #mastodon. I like it, more #fedivariety less #echochamber.
