What is it about bioinformatics workflows that causes most practitioners to treat the file system like a database? Do they not teach database or data organization concepts when training people in this field? Why the zillions and zillions of directories and files with names that are jumble of character strings, numbers, and parameter sweep indices that mean nothing except to the researcher? How are reproducibility, speed, and organization supposed to happen in this context?

@npub19st…u9g9 What's the issue that you see? It looks like a tool for configuring the settings needed across various tools, similar to update-crypto-policies on RedHat-like systems. Did I miss something?

Dear folks who make password entry web forms:
When thereʻs a field for the email address on the login page and also a "forgot password" link, please donʻt ask for the email adress again when the link is clicked on. Many password managers wonʻt try to recall a password unless the accountemail field is already filled in or at least started. If the email address has alredy been provided, just use that!

@npub1sfq…dq36 As you know but take pains to hide, the statements you make are only applicable to the LTS products and not to the general development versions. There is little difference between the approaches applied to this and Red Hat’s approach to CentOS stream except that the Recky versions are more stable and accessible. Red Hat “lifers” should label their posts accordingly.
