Despite all the working from home, the "Weekend #IPv6 effect is still around. Offices and work-VPNs typically do not support IPv6, whereas residential internet connections & mobile networks often do. Hence, there is a higher percentage of IPv6 reading hours during the weekend. This effect was absent over Christmas/New Year!

So someone (likely a researcher) is scraping my parliamentary site at high speed, and wasting both their and my resources. Whereas this is an open source project, and if they'd contacted me I would have sent them all the data as a lovely SQLite database & an archive of 600k documents. Instead they now have to trawl through HTML pages. Sucks that you can't contact people anymore since all I know is that this is a "google cloud user".

It may be good to know that gas contracts are governed by 'gas days'. And a gas day typically starts at 6 in the morning somehow. It is left as an exercise for the reader to figure out *which* 6AM that is. It is not always or even generally UTC. But in other words, this graph might only show change in the morning:

Which makes sense, the initial readers arrived via social media or news sites. Later readers via references or search queries. I don't worry too much about that initial 'bounce rate', although I do try to 'sell' the article in the first few paragraphs.

A blast from the past - I used to make a lot of plots of European natural gas usage & imports. This eventually became hard to do, but I've restarted plotting the energy content of gas storage sites in Europe, which are rumored to be emptying faster than before. This appears to be true. The line extends until the 20th of April 2025, which is the usual start of filling season.

Microsoft regained its monopoly status for example, especially in government and enterprise. On the other hand Germany once benefited handsomely from not shutting down its industries because they were slow on the uptake.

Trying to delete your Microsoft account is a WILD experience. Currently deep in the weeds with Entra for some reason. I've never done anything with this account, yet here we are "To delete Default Directory organization, you need elevated permissions for Azure resource subscriptions in order to remove them as a pre-requisite to tenant deletion. The Council of the EU has adopted the #CRA Cyber Resilience Act yesterday. This will have huge consequences for everyone who ships hardware and software as a product. Almost no actual open source developers face direct regulation (for writing software), but the users of our open source software very much do. The CRA notably suggests that commercial users pony up for improved open source security attestation. It is a big act, but it offers real possibilities for making better software! 1/2
