RIP #BillAtkinson (1951–2025). During his time at #Apple, he was central to the development of the graphical user interface of the Lisa and later the Macintosh, and is best known for creating MacPaint, QuickDraw, and HyperCard.

Gongrats to Romie!
The display serif by Margot Lévêque is now represented with one hundred Uses in the #FontsInUse Collection. This makes it the first #typeface exclusively* designed by a woman to join Club 💯!
First released in 2019, Romie was updated a year ago to span six weights in roman and italic. See it in use, often sporting its characteristic swash forms and cap ligatures:

But take note that apart from ITC Machine for the name, John Berg’s cover design doesn’t feature any fonts in use: virtually all the numbers are examples of lettering, not type.

@nprofile…90r6 Dear Kai, thanks for reminding us of the upcoming milestone! 🙈 As for the first question, that would be about 4,060 accounts who made at least one published contribution. Answering the other one quickly veers into the territory of #ExistentialTypeQuestions (what is a typeface?), but to give you a number, there are 72K+ active type entities in the database, 11.7K of which are represented with at least one Use.
