If you can be professional and solve someone's problems, I don't think that matters as much as people think it does.
That being said people are genetically wired to be tribal. That will never change.
And even though this is probably gonna make you mad, there is a significant amount of personal responsibility that comes with having a successful life.

Also I agree with your statement to an extent. I didn't want to play by their rules so I started my own business. But its important not to fall into the trap of following their ethics.
The way I have "cheated" the system is by holding high ethics. You would be surprised how well that works with bringing in exceptional and ethical talent. There is a large vacuum of that.

Hmm, I hire a lot of people and I'm trying to figure out how I feel about this.
My first thought is this isn't really cheating.
My second thought is, what does this say about their ethics.
My third thought is how do I use this persons ingenuity to my advantage without falling subject to their potentially questionable ethics.

I have wanted to start a collective terms and conditions negotiations group. Its would just have to have everyone in it.
