Capital is harmful as it tends to centralize in the hands of a small number of Capitalists, and it tends to motivate the people in power to rig the system further in their own self-interest. Capitalism is by its very nature coercive, but in a way more subtle than what came before it. I believe personally that society on a fundamental level is falling prey to the idea of "Me me me" where capital accumulation is prioritized over happiness and freedom, and unchecked it is causing our society to crumble and splinter. Just look at the fall of Twitter and the RHEL drama going on as simple examples. The mentality that should be how we govern society is that of the Social contract: " I give up my right to be a greedy asshole so I get representation in government, college, healthcare and the resources needed to enjoy positive freedom". I believe that the market itself inevitably becomes monopolistic, or "centralized" in libertarian/crypto speak. Voting with your dollar violates "one person = one vote". I believe instead that a mix of direct and representative democracy is the only way forward in our government and society so people directly have a voice in the affairs of government, instead of monopolies and centibillionaire oligarchs. The market is good for non-essential goods like books or something, and it woefully fails when it comes to things like housing or insurance. The economy should be a combination of democratic planning for societal necessities and a market with workers cooperatives competing to make better products in less essential products.
