Anybody who agrees with Saylor perspective on interest rates?
I think too, as Saifedeen, that interest rates should tend to 0, because of free market. There will be many people who'll be willing to lend money, and you'll get as low as the people who lend will get. More people, more information, more competition, lower interest rates.

Never thought at it like that. If just one friend of mine would suggest a film I would watch it even if the score in some site is low, because I trust his suggestion more then the ones made by others I do not know.
The system you suggest is like the one on Instagram at the moment. So we know it could work.
But here we are daily looking at profiles that maybe nobody follows, so you still need something for them too. Maybe you'll get different algos give different scores.

The meme "there is no second best" is not some fancy bullshit to degrade other projects, it just to know that there is no necessity to have other units of measure for time/energy, it is really just noise to have many things that have the same purpose.
So it is important to take the one that at the base is the most reliable, an then build on top.

So you never really retire, you are just getting some time off for the family, but two parents are not needed to be constantly in the life of a child, so you can really continue to "work" (as per doing something for the society) but giving priority to the family.
I get what you say, I just don't like the idea that people get with the work your ass of and then live as a rent-seeker.
I know you do not mean it like that, but this is what the normal people understand.

Yes I do not know either I just look it the Mods work and we can see that many people ask nothing in return to the things they do because it is out of passion or necessity. I would too give my help to improve the software I work or play with often, it is in my full interest.
Regarding the quality coders, I agree, but we already know it will take less and less ability to do such things with AI, and more creativity that is much more easy to share.

Books, games, music, are just mere information. Once it is created, everybody can have access to it and the "right" to own it is just a moral (but useful) case.
It is all about truth and its importance in valueing information. As you say "we pay with our wallets" but in reality when we pay we are not giving value for something already in existance but for something that could be created.
Take the example with music, you pay the artist to listen to music that have already been created, but in reality you are giving to him money to value his future works.
With books is the same, you pay money to value past works, hoping you can support him to create other works.
Games' case could be the same but in reality, games nowadays are always works in progress full of patches and DLCs. I think that the ultimate games are the ones that as per bitcoin-core example, will evolve via open-source merging of owned-by-everybody code.

Yes, I did get it. But what's the factual alternative if amazon business cannot run no more the service at the actual price? Increasing the fee and giving the ad free solution seems the only viable thing to do with their actual structure.
I still think that going with torrent to bankrupt the actual streaming platforms is ok as soon as if it is missing IDGAF.

The measurement analogy would break down also when tecnology and innovation take place and you can fit more inside your unit. It is not a fixed unit that is correct. As much time is not a fixed unit when you travel in space. It is just something anchored to our perception that create a sense of objective reality.
You cannot have a fixed unit, you need to decide in this case whether it is inflationary or deflationary. Inflation is to take away value from other existing unit and it is fixed inside the protocol of Monero. While deflation in bitcoin is just a consequence of human error.
I choose possible deflation against programmed inflation.
I do not undermine Monero technology, I look up for it. It is just not needed another coin to do the work.

"Value is subjective" that's correct, I'm not deciding for others, mine is just an opinion. Here we are talking about a monetary unit of measurement, it is
more an objective thing. It is like saying that measuring something with arms length is better then using a fixed unit like a meter. You can prefer your arm way but in the long run we already know what is going to be the more effective tool.
Value is subjective but remember the frog in the pond story. Give value to the wrong things and you won't survive.

Heard about it, never looked into it. I've seen mixed reactions. I'll check what I can understand.
I'm just not pro altcoins because they have no value outside their unit of mesurement for energy/time/utility/scarcity. There is no sense to have different unit for the same concept. Just as having both metric and imperial unit have no utility.
We just need ONE monetary unit with the best attributes, and we know there is just one.

You are getting information from articles and videos of more then 2 years ago, take from an interview made in a anything-crypto channel where the audience is not looking for a bitcoin-maxi. Saylor is also famous for his anti-bitcoin tweet in the past, completely changing its position in 2020. He become way more maxi during 2022 and 2023.
Monero is a good technology but it does fall in the hard cap fallacy, making it inflationary as any current currency.
Bitcoin in its layer 1 is and will never focus in a privacy way because as Saylor said, the value is in the open and fully trasparent ledger. Differencies can be made when you look into the layers 2 (as Lightning Network), here possibilities are bigger because their protocol are shaped to integrate more programmable functions, like Monero's ones.
Just listen to his newer interviews. I don't ever recall him to talk about any other "crypto" because with a second and third layer everything can be done just with Bitcoin.
Bitcoin in layer 1 will never be a currency because its main focus will always be decentralization and security. The Trilemma is clear, and the layer 1 sacrifice the scalability part, making it possible in others layers.

Had to translate but:
If you think deeply enough "copyright" it's just a tool to enrich someone that had the luck or power to seem the author of something
How many cases we can find where the real author was not the one with the copyrights? How can you be sure that, that person was the first one to create that things?
Its very deep and hard to draw a line about it, it seems morally correct to give a prize to author but the reality I think is different. It is better to incentivize people to find information and not to pay them when it is found.

If you take out coercion and theft, value 4 value it's what moves the world.
The only thing I would add is that, we cannot pretend to get something when we give out information. When information are shared it's already too late to get something back for it. The only thing you can look into are donations from people that value your work and want more from you.
If you think, when you are paying for a subscription plan you are paying to support the future work of an artist, you are not paying for the work he already have done. Morally and phisically it does not make sense to pay to get informations that have already been created and shared. But it does make sense to give money (time and energy) to someone that can give you back value in a way you cannot give it to yourself.

I think that putting a price is different than putting value. The beautiful thing about thinking in satoshis is that we are giving away something that is more than money but is also value, energy and time.
Regarding your position in tipping posts, I understand that an artist is less interested in other artists products because that's the kind of value you give to yourself so you don't need to get it from someone else.
I like to tip posts I personally like because of the feedback I give back to the person, hoping that it incentivize him to do more of that work.
