My interest in the Hohokam civilization was not only because of my interest in the history and the prehistory of native Americans, but also my interest in the formation of deserts on the West Coast. There are extensive artificial cannels throughout the Phoenix basin. My suspicion is that as the Hohokam civilization advanced, their excessive agricultural activities destroyed the ecosystem leading to the desertification of the region. Then the people disappeared.

I was there in the early 80s, perhaps they became a bit more humanized since then. There are devils in every country who are using global warming as an excuse to make some quick cash and get away from it. European "settlers" massacred hundreds of thousands of Native Americans, took their land, put them into concentration camps (reservations), destroyed all their cultural artifacts, called them savages, .. I am interested in the real history of America, such as the Hohokams.
