And you don't need to go to an artist for their personality lol in fact most of them probably don't want to discuss anything but the work, you are a client not their friend

the AI ref is pulling from art that already exists so you should be able to find something that is similar enough :p
If you dont like working with people than you should learn how to draw it yourself, or be happy with little to no revisions, but I understand you aren't interested in either of those, so- many artists will do numerous revisions for you, but you will be paying them a lot of money

seconding this, it's so much more fun to actually design a character from the ground up with someone. If I got handed an AI ref sheet I would turn the person away as well, because:
1. The fun of character design is working through it with someone, starting with basic ideas and sketching out concepts until you're happy with it. Talking about the character and getting not just their physical design but their personality fleshed out as well.
2. How do I know you're not just going to feed what I drew into a generator if you decide it's a good starting point but not enough?
3. Id assume you're not going to like the cost or want to pay when you can just click a button and get slop for free.
4. It's just a general lack of respect. Why would you need to feed a generator when there are millions of drawings out there done by actual human beings. Find something that a person actually drew that is similar to what you want and send it, along with a short description.
