I get it, its an emotional argument for you and that is ok. My comment was simply to highlight the fact that there are equally viable alternatives and priorities. My home is my family. I have difficulty putting value in things I know can be easily taken from me and have been taken from me or my family before. We've lost our home to rot and mold, we've had theft of material possessions and funds. We had our local government force us to move after we said no to their offer, they decided to buy the road we used to get in and out of our property to force us out. So sure, it's fine to believe your property will forever be in your name after you die, and that doesnt prevent me from stacking sats and staying humble.

Ive noticed that there are no inter mint fees until you take it out to a lightning address, which is awesome. Pretty great way to stack privately it seems but comes with its own tradeoffs. Im going to test the wallet recovery feature with a few sats inside to see if i can get it back. Since its technically saved on your phone, i dont know how that would work without them storing some of your private data

Muun has a different backup method that isnt the typical 12-24 word seed, but uses a sort of serial number like recovery seed. Because of that, people say its custodial, but it isnt. Its open source as well, so if you like it then its a solid wallet. The only reason i dont use muun anymore is because of the fees since it does submarine swaps on chain. You'll find that the fees using a true lightning wallet are astronomically better after the initial channel setup fee.

I've tried several different non custodials and its by far the least buggy, fastest, and easiest to use. I've had unexpected fees and consequences using mutiny, ive lost lost a painful amount of sats with Zeus because of faulty cypher seed recovery. Aqua has high lightning subswap fees through liquid and zero security. Honestly, Phoenix has been a breath of fresh air, and yesterday I accidentally discovered its ability to splice channels.

Id highly recommend checking out robosats, i cant recommend bisq cause i personally have never used it. Setup an offer to sell $50-100 on the platform, something youre comfortable testing with. Get familiar with the process, look at how it secures the funds, even try to see if you can break it somehow. Its pretty fantastic in my opinion, and the only way i buy btc now. Not easy is an understatement. I've lost millions of sats through multiple attempts to go non custodial. Its experimental tech, in an industry that is competitive and hardly anyone is willing to divulge how they run a successful channel. It's not at all worth it for anyone who isn't living off their massive stack they started 13 years ago.
