I'm looking into wiping my daily driver aka #ThinkPad P14s AMD and reinstalling #VoidLinux using #ZFS but I'm currently torn. I'm going to use ZFSBootMenu and an encrypted zpool but if I wanted to use hibernate aka suspend to disk I'd need a separate swap partition which would then be unencrypted. So to rectify that I'd need to use Luks which then makes zfs encryption pointless. So either I don't worry about the suspend to disk image being unencrypted or I just don't use suspend to disk ? 🤔

OK I need help with my #QMK Hand wired Pi Pico #Keyboard .
I have all of the keys / layers working fine but I just cannot seem to get my oled displaying any layer status or caps lock etc. I've been reading the docs but getting no where just a blank display.
I have already connected onto GP0 and GP1 for the i2c bus and it worked with my previous #KMK setup.
Does anyone have a working copy of their configs / setup of using an oled with QMK on a Raspberry Pi Pico ??

Ok I can't see the wood for the trees. I've coded my screenshot key binds in #RiverWM and the first one works once then all subsequent screenshots using the Print key just get saved into the same files date.
Yet with similar code the other keybind works perfectly as expected.
What have I done wrong ?

Being a bit quiet today as I'm spending it mostly up a ladder against our two storey timber house. Yep you guessed it I'm armed with a paint brush giving the timber it's five yearly treatment. Only this time I'm using a gloss based wood stain.

You're going to laugh, But I'm currently trapped in my study with nothing but my PC and a glass of red as I discovered a MASSIVE spider on the door frame as I entered. I quickly slammed the door. My only problem now is that my wife is out at work for the next 30mins - 1 hour. Yes I'm terrified on any spider. 😢

If I'm going retro it would have to be either Z80 or 6502 based. I once had the likes of a ZX80, spectrums all types a CPC 6128 and a trusty Apple II Europlus with 80 col card. Wish I'd still got them. 🙃

#RiverWM is brilliant and the tags setup is first class but I really do miss being able to get a windows position and geometry for use with grim to enable taking a screenshot of the active window say rather than having to select it yourself using the mouse.
I know there is supposed to be window recording in wlroots at some point but it could be a while.

One thing that has me puzzled is when fullscreening #Foot it loses transparency for a security reason so I've read up and this affects other terminals too. But why does the text seem to dim too ? Can this be fixed @npub1cea…9hxx ?

Going to switch back to foot to be honest. Kitty is good and it allows me to fullscreen the terminal and still be transparent where as Kitty doesn't but that isn't a show stopper. Kittys memory usage and 2 second startup delay are quite annoying though.

Been playing about with Firefox running with the Tridactyl extension and a custom userChrome.css file to make it look and behave similar to Qutebrowser. Not bad for a first attempt if I do say so myself. I wonder if you can make the inactive tabs background colors alternate with css ??🤔

Beginning to wonder whether I should switch from Qutebrowser to Firefox and use something like Vimmium-FF to get Vim like keybindings ?
My only issue would be real estate. I'd have to be able to shrink the tabs and other stuff if possible to get a similar look to QB.
Anyone else made this switch from Qutebrowser and what were your reasons ?

Ok #Python folks could you help me out as this used to work but recently it has stopped and displays the -e after the echo now and no icons.
If I type in the terminal using bash:
echo -en "Firefox\\0icon\\x1fweechat" | fuzzel -d -w 100 -l 10
It opens fuzzel with the correct icon displayed.

Haha I have gotten the latest Git version of #Qtile running on my #VoidLinux test laptop using johnazule instructions below.
I just removed all the void qtile stuff and then installed all required packages using pip install --user PKGNAME
Also I made sure that I had both wlroots0.16 and wlroots0.16-devel installed from the Void repo.

@npub12z7…ahgv So far they're fantastic. Setup was real easy even bringing in my own domain was a doddle. I had been noticing that I was not always getting emails from various places on Gmail but since switching I am now getting them. Also I was getting fed up of them selling my data and serving up ads so paying for privacy was a no brainer TBH.
