Needlessly fucking over state workers in hopes it will boost his doomed presidential campaign. It won't. Assuming we're still having elections in 2028, Newsom will be out before the California primary. Asshole. (Bonus is that no 2026 Dem candidate will have to deal with the question of fucking over state workers because we'll have been pre-fucked.) #california

Possibly dumb #snac #snac2 question, but what is the best way to install the latest version without affecting the existing users and posts, etc.? I thought I needed to use the command line option "snac upgrade" but looking at the manuals again, I don't think that's actually what that option is for? Is there a write up for just updating to the latest version out there anywhere?

So if my #fediverse account is bridged to #bluesky via #bridgy , and if I post using hashtags, does that mean my posts show up for Bluesky users who search that hashtag, even if they don't use bridgy? Or nah? For that matter, are they even visible to Bluesky users who do use bridgy, even if they don't follow me? (For that matter, I'm not sure they really reach Bluesky at all, but...)

@nprofile…cc7g I appreciate this reporting but I'm not sure about the news peg. It seems to suggest the Legislature isn't doing its job in the middle of a crisis. But that's not true since (as mentioned further down) bills don't hit policy committee for several more weeks.

Do people not remember that Twitter was already terrible before Elno bought it? It was terrible. I quit for good about a year before he took over, and a couple times before that, though it was hard. I like the idea of being able to interact with Bluesky users from the safety of my semi-permeable fediverse home. But I certainly don't want to go back to anything like Old Twitter.
