Na próxima semana vamos fazer uma live na LINUXtips para falar sobre Fediverso, ActivityPub e Mastodon.
A ideia é tentar descomplicar, superficialmente o funcionamento disso aqui.
Alguém que tenha experieência em manter instancia, seja com moderação ou infra se voluntaria para participar?

Uma ferramenta como Redis está implantada onde está a grana, bancos, companhias aereas, governos, esses dificilmente mudariam o contrato que possuem (e as vezes nem podem) por um fork, e financeiramente para quem investe é ai que tá o foco que traz retorno.
O fork funciona meio que um "alivio" dessa obrigação de manter o que a comunidade precisa, enquanto ainda continua compatível, dessa forma desenvolvedores vão prototipar no fork mas na hora de colocar grana vai pra corp.

ahh sim, mas isso é mais uma vantagem pro investidor né, se as tecnologias manterem compatibilidade.
O que quero dizer é que da perspectiva de um investidor só tem vantagens, não é má ideia e a existência de forks até ajudam.
Revolucionário mesmo seria a comunidade em peso migrar para outro protocolo, um cache storage completamente incompatível com Redis, ai sim seria bom para a liberdade e ruim para quem tá ganhando grana com isso ai.

grandes empresas vão continuar na opção proprietária, aliás, é até bom para essas empresas pois elas tem certeza que o foco do desenvolvimento é em produto. Além disso muitas vezes as corporações pagam na verdade é por um contrato e não necessariamente pela tech.
O redict/valkey continua evoluindo pela comunidade e o Redis evoluindo pelo produto.
Acho muito difícil uma grande corporação trocar um contrato com uma empresa estabelecida por um fork.

I limited the amount of time I can access the twitter domain on my phone, I left 10 minutes allowed because there is always some link I could click to read.
Next plan is to do it on my router so it will extend to my whole network.
Once I understand Pixelfed and solve my username issue there I will start doing with Instagram.
For YouTube it is more complex because I want my own peertube instance.

Eu to usando já tem uma semana no EndeavourOS e to gostando, virei fanboy de KDE.
Olha que nunca gostei de Qt, eu usei XFCE por muitos anos e gosto do look and feel do Gtk, mas eu odiei o Gnome Shell que quando sai do XFCE fui pro i3wm (com xfce).
Mas to mudando minha opinião sobre Qt, os Frameworks do KDE evoluíram muito desde minha primeira experiência 20 anos atrás.

Last week I made some RADICAL changes to my dev env, 3 days on the new system, and I am liking it a lot
Moved
i3wm -> KDE Plama 6
terminator -> Konsole
helix-editor -> Kate
xfce4-applets -> Kwin-applets
rofi -> Krunner
catppuccin-mocha -> catppuccin-latte
X -> Tokodon
Gimp -> Krita
The driver for change was Kate editor, I am impressed on how it is good and fast, then once I started using Kate I wanted the whole KDE experience.
The most radical change was from dark to light mode everywhere.
