It takes a few hours to kill all the spam that people (or bots, really) upload to Internet Archive, even with the cool software I've crafted over the years to help me.
After that, I go on a run to find the COOL stuff. And that's what I highlight here.

The semantic search engine of over 25,000 CD-ROMs from the Internet Archive is back:
http://DISCMASTER.TEXTFILES.COM is once again helping people discover long-lost computer history, forgotten images and music, and endless other buried treasures.
It was gone for half a year. Now it's here to stay. Enjoy.

Great because that's what the Internet Archive/Wayback machine is for, a citation and research machine.
Bad because this is a critical giving time and people don't know the whole thing is used as much as it is. Still thinking how to improve this.

Had the pleasure of making a note at the Internet Archive's all-hands meeting about the Hbomberguy plagarism video, because that video (plus the Todd in the Shadows sequel/assist) are an example of using the Internet Archive so much and so extensively, it's not even mentioned - they just use it, like you use a search engine or you use an editing program.
Obviously this is both good and bad.

I also know some of them are doing this by extracting the .SWF files out of Wayback Machine captures, truly closing the loop of acquisition-access-even better access.

The best partnerships at the archive are between confoundingly committed collectors of digital artifacts and providing a collection of their work.
Such it is with this user who is tracking down each and every Monster High flash game provided over the years in the 2000s, making logos for each, and then making them emulated. I merely gave them a collection. At 450 and counting, this is likely heading towards being comprehensive.
