there are many places in a story where the rules of a ttrpg may choose to intervene to shape the outcome.
in Dialect by thorny games, in each scene starts with a player drawing a card, with a description of a random word or phrase on it (like "friend" or "good luck"). that player needs to come up with what the word for that sentiment is in the characters' languages and role-play a conversation that uses it.
by the end of the game the players are speaking half their words in conlang.
