@nprofile…v8hl I know this and get it. But 99,99% of all people just dont care. I teach in evening schools, parents and kids courses etc. the participation is low compared what I believe should be the ratio. For most people these are intangible, future potential benefits. The pleasure and ease of use etc. is now. The first question I get: Will all my apps and internet work if I block some ads?

I just looked at my #internet #traffic the last 30 minutes surfing with my #iPad. Looking for some #Christmas stuff, read here…
I use #nextdns as my #adblocker, #trackerblocker.
I try to block as many #apple connections as I can, all #google, all #facebook / #meta, all .cn and .ru and much more.
And I can still buy, surf, enjoy the internet. Amazing.
In my #privacy courses, a common concern is that sites and connection may be broken, when you block this stuff. Nope, in 99% of the cases, nope.

Ich bin verärgert.
Ich lese über unfähige #Politiker. Über #Musk oder #Bezos etc. oder auch die Manager von #VW. Wir beschweren uns über #Facebook, #WA, #TikTok.
Alle Macht geht vom Volke aus.
Habe ich mal vor Dekaden irgendwo gelesen.
Keiner zwingt uns, #Scholz, #Lindner oder #Merz zu wählen. Wir können Parteien gründen, uns engagieren. Wir müssen unseren Kinder keine Handys geben, „nur weil die anderen das auch tun“.

@nprofile…0h8q @nprofile…nqln In meinem Verständnis lädt KI überhaupt nichts aus dem Internet. Sondern die Daten werden über sogenannte Crawler gesammelt. Und das hat mit KI erst mal nichts zu tun. sonst könnten kleinere Startups gar nichts machen, aber die können diese Daten kaufen oder sie verwenden. Google sammelt die Daten in seinen Datenbanken. Aber viele kleinere Firmen wie Anthropic konnten das am Anfang nicht und können das wahrscheinlich bis heute nicht.

Also habe ich mich eingeloggt (Web) und dort steht ich kann Guthaben kaufen.
Da steht nichts von einem legendary Account. Ich kann 18€ (als Anzahlung für einen Revolutionary), 36€ (für einen Revolutionary) oder 96€ (für einen Revolutionary und Guthaben) kaufen. Kein Legendary.

1. It requires a phone number which means in countries where you can’t get a SIM card anonymously the government may have possibilities
2. I checked a couple of times the state of the source code on GitHub and it was 9 or 10 months old. But on my phone I get almost weekly reminders to update to the new version.

In companies, employers can only deactivate it for their employees but not activate it remotely.
There appears to be an option to delete it entirely.
And access to the stored data is only granted using Hello.

Es gibt die Möglichkeit, #chatbots, #LLMs und #GenAI zu verwenden, ohne Daten an #BigTech abgeben zu müssen. Die Annahme, KI braucht viel Rechenleistung und Strom, gilt vor allem für das Lernen der Modelle, nicht aber für die #Inferenz.
Open Source Modelle gibt es viele und einige sind ähnlich mächtig wie ChatGPT oder Gemini.

@nprofile…5k2y I have many thoughts about your post, Brian. I was wondering why people who invested in Mt. Gox and lost all, invested in FTX and lost all again? So people will invest in crypto if their Jesus Lord Trump tells them to.
But to me, this is true with basically all investments. As a regular low investor, like me, other workers, who save for the future with a couple of bucks, they often lose. Banks, investment banks in particular, work for the rich, nothing else.
