Holy shit, my feed the past few days has been inundated with "Brits beat the Fascists, so can America", or "First UK, then France, now it's our turn America"
Look Americans, we know you're wrapped up in your own little bubble over there, but FFS, how about not turning everything into something about you?
Congratulations to UK Labour on their epic victory against a deeply unpopular, and fragmented incumbent Conservative Party.
Congratulations to the French left wing alliances who worked together to deny victory to the far right.
Americans, if you want to learn from these success stories, then in the UK, the governing party lost because their own voters became disillusioned with them, and in France it took a unified front and cooperation for the right to be defeated. Food for thought....

There's a pretty high burn out rate for psych nurses, but all nurses are overworked and underpaid/underappreciated.
I agree that everyone is different and that is part of what makes assessing suicidal or any behavioural issues so difficult. I've had friends with almost self destructive tendencies but I wouldn't have thought them suicidal. Eg, one did actually die speeding on a motorcycle...

My wife was a psychiatric nurse and we occasionally talked about suicide, but mostly she needed a hug and sympathetic shoulder to cry on after dealing with people with suicidal tendencies. The more I talked to her and listened to her, the more I realised that I really knew very little about the issues

Alice is nearly 15 years old. She's never had much control of her whiskers which tend to stick out in random directions. 😀
But she is a most gentle soul who very much likes sitting on laps (and legs, feet, thighs etc)
