Heute ist in #Budapest die Delegation der serbischen Studierenden angekommen, welche nach #Straßburg mit dem Fahrrad fahren, um dort ein paar Forderungen an europäische Institutionen anzubringen. Auf dem Hősök tere (Heldenplatz) erwartete sie eine große Menge solidarischer Menschen, vor allem Serb*innen aus der Diaspora, mit Musik, guter Stimmung und reichlich Essen. Der Platz war bewusst gewählt: Bei der Einfahrt auf dem Platz passierten sie die serbische Botschaft.

Since then, the state radio has been brought more in line with the ruling party, but there have also been some inspiring protests in #Slovakia against authoritarian populism. In #Bratislava, you get the best view over the city from the memorial for the fallen soldiers during the liberation of the city from the Nazis, which stands above everything else on a hill. Its architecture is less overwhelming than the similar memorial in Berlin. Definitely worth a visit, especially just before dusk, the coming darkness adding to the atmosphere and lending itself to some introspection of where we're headed currently.

Just had my first AI-Voiceover on Youtube... and I have a serious issue with it, and it isn't the quality.
Websites should respect the language the browser requests. That especially includes NOT forcing bad AI-Translations on users, because some messed up faulty geolocating thinks I want German videos on Youtube, while Google is in Croatian even though my browser kindly asks for English.
Stop guessing wrongly and respect user control. This isn't the internet I want (oh, and ban ads already).

Anyway, I must say that Belgrade feels really alive, even in the middle of winter, with shitty weather. It's a city that somehow has a wild chaotic feel among urban sprawl that doesn't seem to make sense and public transportation that just barely works.

I was equipped with my microphone, camera and laptop, some years experience and a rough idea of what I was getting into - and it turned out different from anything I could expect. Little did I know then, that in the end, I'd tell the story of a man who was almost murdered by Bangladesh police, for the crime of going to school. Probably the most important story I did there.

Still, they're probably right. Just one problem: Even if "AI" does those tasks, the humans will still produce emissions - because they won't suddenly stop writing, there's just going to be more words. The environment is a social issue - not a technological one.

Ever wanted a potato as a #phone?

. @npub16ur…mx4u Thanks to this, I now know that the #PinephonePro on #pmOS has a working camera app with Snapshot! Thank you! I'm not prepared to use flatpack, so it's great that it is packaged regularly now. Only drawback is that only the front camera works, but that's better than no camera.

By now I've been home for a while, but last thoughts: Sort out call and random reboot issues, and the #pinephonepro is ready to use on the road. #gps and navigation with #osmin works well, the fully fledged firefox browser gets you around many "please use the app" moments, and even cameras work well enough on #pmos for quick snapshots to send to friends.
It works: A 3270km motorcycle trip solo with only #Linux in your pocket.
