@npub1dug…mkax was talking to an expert on this at an Oxford seminar, it seems they are going to go bankrupt as they have spent ten years boroing money to pay out as dividends and now have no resources left... it's beyond the #deathcult level of mess...

it needs to have £40 a month donation, plus some extra to build up a buffer - currently we are down to nothing, not a good way to run the #openweb

@npub1dug…mkax we have been running these instances for admin and mod #UX for the #OMN projects rather than the power for social change, as you say the instance community failed a year or more ago.
We now face a funding crunch due to none of the funding applications going through for the tech projects... so it's supporting community or closer #OMN

@npub1dug…mkax the problem is the is nothing kollectiva as well, its a problem with the coding of this #openweb reboot, its fading as it goes #mainstreaming this is not a surprise thus the thinking about shutting down, only have so much focus.

@npub1dug…mkax we are going to be thinking about shutting down all #OMN instances as the is currently no money to pay the hosting, and outreaching is not working without a LOT of help.
The #DIY coding project is not actually working anyway, the has been no movement beyond chatter on the tech side of #OMN for the last few years, and the #fedivers stuff was set up to seed this dev.
Any ideas for a good path, happy to pass the instances on to a new responsible crew.

Jack Dorsey's is "VC ing" $250,000 to the Nostr in compation to the real working #[0] native #[1] projects.
The idea that an influx of funding can solve issues is #[2]. We need to be awe of there are benefit to taking time to address issues in a messy, collaborative and inclusive manner.
The importance of decentralized media being built around affective "consensus" based communication and coordination, rather than a competition between figureheads and their protocols.
