tbh, that is a fuck up on Microsoft's side.
You can get drivers and **"receive updates for other Microsoft products when you update Windows"** so I don't get why can't they figure out a way internally to deliver updates to recent dotnet versions that way.

I just don't think that shipping a python based CLI which will encapsulate Python for itself without properly installing Python, eventually having multiple - most probably unpatched - Python versions running side by side is a better approach than requiring to install PowerShell as a prerequisite.

I just can't see that the whole organization would equally appreciate PowerShell and I can't shake the memory of someone saying every time they release a new CLI which could have been a PowerShell module a kitten dies
