I found a weird crash that seems to involve running #golang apps compiled for amd64 on an aarch64 system using #qemu.
It seems to be related to the Go GC, GOGC=off works. Go 1.20 also works.
The crash output from Go runtime is in this issue, but I've been able to reproduce this when building a very simple hello world app for amd64:

Both Go's runtime/GC and qemu are complicated things I suck at debugging 😞

Kaiser Permanente in #oregon is more than happy to sell you an insurance policy and collect your money, but then they make it impossible to actually schedule appointments for anything. It seems like they make it difficult on purpose. How is this legal??

for realz. This was a big "ah hah!" moment for me earlier... I don't actually need hardware with all the ponies in it most of the time. For the rare situations when I'm stuck waiting too long for something to compile, I should probably go for a walk!

it's an ivy bridge i7, from 2013-2014(maybe?).
according to @npub1p8d…d8w7 there's a coreboot patch to support it, but it hasn't been merged because no one could test it... until now 😛

#phosh 0.40 will correctly detect the #steamdeck's panel orientation and start up in landscape mode now! 🎉
Here's a photo of it running on #postmarketOS!
There are still a few rough edges with running pmOS, phosh, and the other UIs we support, on the Steam Deck... but it's still really nice to see one rough edge smoothed out.
pmOS on the Steam Deck, just like the blueberries in the photo, is not quite ready for consumption... 🤞 😄

Does anyone know where I can score a cheap used #steamdeck to use for #postmarketos development work? I own one already but you can't make me give up muh gamez 😢
(I would also like to avoid giving ebay money, if possible. But that's obviously also an option too... I guess.)

For those unaware, they just significantly leveled up the #postmarketOS initramfs by:
- adding the ability to drop to a debug/rescue shell on boot by using hardware keys
- making it a lot easier to get logs for debugging initramfs issues
- improving hardware detection in the initramfs
- speeding up boot on many devices
