So one entertaining aspect of this fascist beauty contest is that there were fewer than 100 000 Tory members prepared to vote.
So, from census data, there are more trans folk than this turnout, let alone the numbers who voted Badenoch. About five times more than her mandate IIRC.

I imagine Dodds was at Cabinet because she is party Chair? I think Development is lumped with FCO since the Tories abolished it.

Thornberry the main Shadoe Cabinet role that didn't transfer, and would be an ally, if not perhaps an effective one.

So, let us summarize the state of British politics. You can call out racism and homophobia if it is by one of the little people, but otherwise it must be platformed at every opportunity. Transphobia must never be called out, and is arguably obligatory.

BBC reporting that the Tories think they can play havoc with Labour by going all-in on the trans card, but surely the only result will be traumatising trans people rather than any electoral progress - there are no votes in it, even if they can get out from under the betting scandal.
Labour's response, of course, will be totally paranoid.

Oh I see we are onto conversion practices now.
There is a part of me which will enjoy Starmer, Streeting and others trying to explain their manifesto, which is at that point pretty unequivocal about gender identity - this is the fundamental issue, on which they will never do enough to appease the phobes. Their choices are: disown their manifesto, look like idiots, or tell the truth about trans people.
I am not sanguine about which way they'll jump.
