When i was a kid, I was taught that the fail state of democracy was voting in for "Bread and circuses", that is free necessities and luxuries, explained in that time as communism.
The real fail state of democracy is voting to bring back kings.

In "let's kick a wasp's nest" today:
It's been 30 years, and several spin offs. We don't need another Kirk and company show or movie. We need a TNG reboot with new actors playing Picard and Crew.
The last only TOS movie was in 1991. The Kelvin timeline movies started in 2009. That's 18 years.
The last TNG movie was 2002, so it's been 22 years, so we are technically over due for a reboot.
