I think YouTube is an edge case. There’s a ton of useful stuff on YouTube. But why would streaming Netflix, Disney, etc. be necessary for work?
As to resources to maintain this? No. Flick a switch in whatever proxyware you use and you’re done.

@nprofile…k0zs I’ve learned that the different models do different things well. ChatGPT is made for…wait for it…chat. It’s not going to do that as well as a model that’s trained for tech or research, etc.
I use Perplexity, partially because it has a bunch of different models, and I try to use the best one for the job.

But you prob know more than me about it. I run a single instance and it hums. Has about 70GB of media cached. I don’t want the legal and moderation issues with users so I don’t have any experience there.

@nprofile…wuyc Nope. If a province charges pst and pst separately, then yes. But HST provinces get it all off. The provinces can elect to cover the pst portion themselves or get the Feds to pay back the pst portion of the HST to the province. It’s billions in provincial tax, though, so I doubt any HST province is going to cover that themselves.

As I age I realize the indigenous view is the correct one. We were all willed into existence without our consent or consultation and then expected to “just figure it out”. There’s nothing to figure out. Just live. It’ll be over soon enough.

From my perspective, I found #Threads to be weirdly obsessed with statistical cohorts. I have not seen so many posts involving discussions about people’s generation anywhere else. It seemed like every 3rd post had boomer or millennial in it. Characteristically of social media in general, #GenX rarely comes up.
