Honestly, instead of putting AI in the browser, I would be more grateful if browser developers add a local built-in SQLite database with full-text search plus few sprinkles of JS (no, not SQLite WASM, not IndexedDB).
*Then* extend it with CRDT and server-local sync like CouchDB/PouchDB or RxDB.

Just tried Bluesky's Starter Packs.
- It's kinda like Lists but public.
- "Choose for me" is from current followings, probably auto-picked based on certain metrics.
- Defaults to list view of people, then the 'Posts' tab which is the timeline of people in the list. More like a preview of public posts, as Bluesky already has Lists that can be public too.
- If custom feeds are added, the 'Feeds' tab will appear.
- Max 50 people, max 3 feeds

It's crazy that Mathjax's `tex-chtml.js` file size is around 217KB (minified, Brotli-ed). This is just one of its output formats (`CommonHTML`) and not yet including the custom web fonts needed to render the glyphs.

While the Mastodon devs are working hard on grouped notifications (https://oisaur.com/@renchap/112617007803967168), I took a separate route to whip up a WIP UI on Phanpy for "timeline of public posts about a trending link" https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/pull/30381
Notes:
- This is for upcoming v4.3 (not out yet)
- The copywriting here is tough, settled on "Mentions" for now
- Permalink can't be created for each link as the link can "expire" from trending

yeah, there's a lot of icon sets out there. Main concern would be file size. Phanpy uses an iconset called MingCute. Only used icons are downloaded and cached, not the whole set (2K+ icons 🫣).
If want to MVP this, emojis would be easier 😂 - though the next problem would be syncing as Phanpy can't sync settings across devices yet.

The icons have to come from somewhere tho'. IceCubes (and all other iOS apps) can use the system's built-in SF Symbol icons.

From the beginning, Phanpy consists of UI ideas from many various apps.
#PhanpySocialDev now has a small new UI experiment, copied from an app that I think some folks don't know: Weverse, a K-pop fan platform. Multiple media attachments won't be in a grid layout when opened in the post view. That's it.

Minimal warning + hints for too-large video/image files. Possibly could resize/compress in-browser but there's memory pressure issue for too-large files, especially on mobile browsers. Will revisit later. The copy is probably too technical.

Little adjustments to the composer, now available for testing on #PhanpySocialDev
- Allow minimize composer, useful for temporarily stashing it aside, especially on PWA where the composer can't pop out to another window. Should work even while posting to the server (loading state).
- Add 'More…' in custom emoji suggestion list to open the extended Custom Emojis picker UI.
- Add 'More…' in mentions list to open extended Accounts picker UI.
Possibly still buggy. Feedback welcomed 🙇‍♂️
