I wonder if they realize how difficult it is to sell durable hardware into a tiny user group.
I have used & modded routers ever since I held an iBook on a leash at Macworld NY 1999.
I purchased (3rd party) HW made for OpenWRT, and not only did the HW need the firmware reflashed and setup again every 3 weeks, the OpenWRT SW is as obtuse and convoluted as possible - nothing is made for regular users.
The only “modern” routers I have found reliable are Apple’s, bc the HW & FW are both reliable.

@npub1vs7…a6g3 @npub1mxz…hhv9 In Japan, they have a daily laundry forecast, to let you know how well your laundry will dry when hung outside (as almost all people do).
During cold weather, I believe I have seen an “Oden” forecast on TV, oden being a traditional type of boiled food bits to prepare & eat when it is really cold.
I would definitely prefer the French toast.

@npub1hvd…9sq9 I wonder if turning them sideways would help - I know it sounds stupid, but it might treat horizontal lines differently? Some of the compressors have weird rules about how they do things or or quirks of processing.

I was a Mac tech for 11 years, fixing ~5000 iBooks, iMacs, PMG4s, etc.
It showed me that everyone gets problems and computer headaches, they just scale with the competence and skill of the user, so beginners get simple problems, and pros get difficult to reproduce intermittent bugs.
You must be quite the power user(s) to get this kind of problem - and I am so glad to see you guys solve it!

@npub1eee…e209 Here in Japan, it is ebbing quickly, but still over 50%. At my school, 80% of students and almost all teachers are still masking indoors - so maybe it is higher globally (in the iPhone market?)

This reminds me of the most stained Mac I’ve seen: when I was doing house calls, I repaired a PMG4 Quicksilver that seemed to be a gold color because the wonderful children’s book illustrator who lived there smoked like a chimney. Every cable, every panel, every piece of plastic - yellow. The inside looked like a spider’s nest of Tar.
The “dirtiest” was an iMac Bondi that was used inside a mineshaft. I shook 3 pounds of dirt out of power & video boards.

@npub1vs7…a6g3 Ivory - much like looking forward to a new movie or book from your favorite creator, Ivory is from a long-time iOS dev team (2007), @npub1zh0…s73r. Choosing them means you get devs with a lot of with experience and a stable app with long-term updates, but they still have the flexibility of a small team making a very carefully crafted App.

I was talking to someone who has never seen nor heard of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice about 20 minutes before I saw your post, and attempted a joke - but this is why you are a writer and I am not! 🤗
