@npub1c2k…da5x I like the Adventures in Middle Earth version. You mention in your post that everyone takes a role - Lookout, Hunter, Scout and Guide. How does this work on the table and how does it impact the game?

It's about the journey, not the destination.
How do you make travel interesting for your players?
Do you use random encounters? Are these random monsters, or odd/interesting encounters?
Do you use planned encounters?
Do you use weather conditions?
Do you use the environment?
Do you skip travel altogether to miss out on the non-essential areas of the game?

@npub1qk5…jlda I strongly agree. I've found the internet became especially bad in the last 3 years.
When using google now, I often specify dates prior to this period for more accurate and less AI based content.

@npub1c2k…da5x The reason I've had it on my mind is that I had a thought about running an entire campaign in the territory of a great dragon. It's the kind of thing that my brain loops over when I'm having an insomnia bout.
It would make the dragon into an impossible enemy until the party was very high level, but the effects of it would be felt everywhere.

Currently spending too much time mentally working out the practicalities of dragons. How large is the territory of a 80,000 lb sapient apex predator? How many cows would it eat per year* etc.
Which I'm pretty sure is not the point of dragons, but that's where my mind's going at the moment.
* I reckon about 416.

I've been recommended the game Vaesen as a rpg to look into, as it meshes with my interests of folklore and local superstitions.
Has anyone here had any experience of it & how does it play?
