I wish it was that simple.
#Xfinity’s broadband Internet is fabulous compared to others we've tried here. Their mobile phone service is shit.
Ironically, that mobile service is just a #Verizon MVNO. Verizon's mobile phone service is fabulous(ly expensive). But their broadband Internet is shit.
#ATT is worse on all fronts here.
#TMobile is hit-or-miss.
Everyone else is either badge-engineered versions of the above or unavailable where I live.

I don’t equate charity, benevolence, or kindness with #altruism for the same reason I don’t equate dieting with starving to death.
The former are rational actions toward a life-sustaining value.
But *consistently* applying altruism as a _moral ideal_ would mean fully denying your life’s value by suicidally serving others’ more valuable lives.
Which is why both dictators and “afterlife” believers preach it, and why those who advocate altruism for their benefit are hypocrites.

I downloaded the official #Mastodon mobile app, and… really? That’s all it can do? Just those features?
No wonder I run across posts from people complaining about how there’s something they “can’t do in Mastodon.”
You *can* do those things, but in helping you join this #SocialNetwork and the #fediverse (an important goal!), @npub163h…mv0n fails to challenge your assumption that the offical app is the only game in town.

DBI has been the #Perl #programming language’s standard #database interface module since October 1994 when it was released coincident with version 5.000 of the language. Like Perl itself, it has continued to be a model of #OpenSource development and support.

An early silver label #Commodore64 is very rare (0.5% to 6% of total produced) and very valuable to collectors if it hasn't been modified to fix early glitches that caused the screen to sparkle and flicker, messing with some games' sprite collisions.

No, this is exactly what “federated” means. Multiple services exchange messages, but any single service only knows about the messages it sends and receives.
Server admins can also subscribe to relays that push content from other servers.

The federated timeline on your #Mastodon server is the aggregate of all public messages sent or received by users on that server. It may be different on other Mastodon servers because those servers have different users who follow different accounts.
There is no single federated stream.

If you see a post from a #Threads (threads.net) user, don’t bother replying yet—they won’t see it.
You can like the post if you want, but they won’t be able to tell who liked it from the #fediverse, only a count of how many and from how many servers.
