📢 New paper out: Microbiome turnover during offspring development varies with maternal care, but not moult, in a hemimetabolous insect
☝ We tested the effect of molting and maternal care on the microbiome of the European earwig. We found that the diversity of the microbiome shifted between developmental stages, rather than during molting. Maternal care shaped the microbiome of both juvenile and adult offspring.

Today I was in Juvisy (near Paris) to give a public lecture entitled "The secret life of earwigs".
It's the first time I've given a talk like this on a subject that's 100% related to my own research. I was quite nervous, but everything went really well and I had a lot of fun. The best moment was when someone asked me at the end, "How did you get the idea to work on this insect?". That is a good question !! 😂
