I've heard a few times in my life that when it comes to French typesetting it's often the case that one adds a thin space between things like "«" and the word, or even between "L'A". If so, how often does this happen, and does it typically happen automatically in word processing situations? Is there anything on the font features side or kerning that is expected there specifically for French?

I unexpectedly find myself an emphatic fan of multi-part sports documentaries… I loved the Beckham Netflix docuseries almost as much as The Last Dance (the docuseries about Jordan and the 90’s Chicago Bulls, if you haven’t somehow watched that yet, even if you’re not a Basketball fan, you have to give it a try)

Does anyone have a link to original Avenir specimens/materials from ~1987 when it came out? Celebrities and big brands may never flock to Mastodon. It's just the nature of the platform to target a small community rather than a large audience, and for those hoping to do that, they'll pick centralized systems every time. But for me, that's just fine. I like it here. Maybe some other friends would like it here too, that's what #[0] is about. Not having your social media owned by a corporation is a great feeling.
