I was already pushing the envelope with the character limit on the zine article, I may try to write a more advanced companion piece for this sometime next year on my blog as the situation develops further. @nprofile…q3uf That said, I'm absolutely not committed to m.social and have openly stated that I'm looking to move on from it in the near future. Deciding where to go will be a challenge, though, with many factors to consider. Ideally, I'd like to be safe from any potential corpo entanglement but also able to reach the most amount of people, even on those potentially vulnerable instances. Self hosting isn't an option with my current living situation. A higher character limit would obv be great!

I think it's a shame and goes against the principles of the fediverse that there's a community of siloed off individuals too pure to communicate with people on massive general use servers hosted on less than scrupulous infrastructure. It would actually be great if Bluesky and Threads were fully federated because we could make these same connections you are choosing to make with me & others in this thread

Here's what a came up with: a very thin slice of electrical tape rolled into a cylinder. It fits snuggly in the A button hole and should provide some resistance for repeated button presses (I hope)

I flipped up the board and immediately figured out what's going on. As you can see, the shaft of the A button is stuck inside a small hole in the rubber membrane. We'll need to put something small between the two to keep this from happening again in the future
