James, I am a Podcast Addict user. I have seen a number of cases where a feed has some change that brings in a blast of episodes. Changing hosting where all permalinks change does that. It has never downloaded any of them for me, just makes them appear as new available entries even if listened to previously.
It seems possible that some maniac has their subscription to your feed configured in archive mode with no limit.

Everything about this looks great except the battery life. It is an order of magnitude less than competing devices. It seems practically impossible that an e-ink device has less than 5 hours of reading time.

@npub12s2…9gr0 I am following your #11ty progress via your podcast. I can give you access to my Github account if you want to dig through my templates. I can also get on a meeting with you where we can share screens and talk things over.
All of the things you describe are doable. I have the previous/next nav on posts, pagination, etc. Generated TOC also well achievable.

And that being my only quibble puts you ahead of literally every print journalist article about podcasting I've read in the last 20 years. Every article has at least one egregious error, sometimes a whole lot.

@npub13cg…ck4q I looked at some of your historical documents, like the history of the word podcast. FYI in some of the stuff you transcribed from audio, you spell Doug Kaye with an "e" at the end.

I can tell you always holding the August conference during the first week of school means no chance of me attending until 2028 at the earliest. And yesterday was my 20th anniversary of the podcast, which would have been a damn fine day there but I just couldn't / am unwilling to do it.

Also, I Am Not An Accountant. The exact terms might be off but the big picture is there. It sounds like a dream to an American when first given this plan but in fact it makes it stressful to arrange time off. I found myself always second guessing when I was taking too many days and such. Then I actually added them up and found I was taking less vacation than when I was granted 20 days or 25 days or whatever which then I always used every day of.

To echo others, it is atypically high.
There is a difference in the US between accrual and not. If it is accrued and you quit, they owe you the unused days as wages. This also means that the company needs to set aside all the wages of all vacation days in case everyone quits tomorrow. For this reason, a lot of companies go to "open vacation" where you have no fixed amount, whatever you can work out with your boss. In practice, I always took fewer days in this system.
