Y ojo, ninguna de las dos opciones es mejor, todo depende de lo que tú quieras. El otro modelo, el de construir un motor económico, es satisfactorio realmente cuando puedes construir cadenas logísticas como si fueran puzzles que hacen crecer numeritos y eso te llevaría por otros problemas de diseño.

Depende de lo que quieras: ¿quieres un juego de optimizar recursos y jugadas para llegar a unas metas de puntos (como sería en juegos de mesa la mayoría de juegos Euros)?, o ¿quieres un juego con una narrativa fuerte en el que los eventos conduzcan a un final/varios finales en función de las decisiones que has tomado? Lo segundo siempre te va a llevar más tiempo que lo primero por la necesidad de escribir "trama" para ello pero es una concepción distinta, claro.

Para empezar: 'Disco Elysium'.
Mi Kojima favorito es el 'Metsl Gear Solid 3': el mejor videojuego de James Bond no basado en una película.
'Horizon Zero Dawn' tiene un montón de narrativa contextual que lo mola todo. Igual que 'Bloodborne'.
Es difícil considerar que haya juegos de humor con mejor guión que los dos Monkey Island originales y que el Indy and the Fate of Atlantis.
