Quite true. Monero is the only currency that I really use to purchase stuff and make donations.

As rule of thumb, never store private keys in plain text and always aim to have them decodes at the client side.
Assume everything will be leaked. There is always a balance between usability and privacy.
The only thing private on NOSTR tends to be private messages and the private key.

I've never had an issue transferring monero either on large nor small amounts but there is a cost of time.
I guess the bigger rational for LN are immediate payments for small things.

Yesterday was working on the website feature. I want these tiny devices to host small web pages with status, navigate the publications and so forth. This because I want the device to be reachable from the outside as a your own private and portable relay.
I'm not yet 100% sure that the bitcoin lottery ticket can be added and run OK, but will give a fair try after adding the most critical feature like NOSTR backup.

Different animals. Blossom delivers what IPFS only promised which is great for small individual files (image) repeated ad eternum that were depending on URLs.
Torrents are great for large volumes of data where the load is better/faster shared by many hosts.
People are pacient enough to wait a minute for one torrent to start (torrent initialization and swarm search), they wouldn't be patient to wait one minute for a small image to load.
Other than that, I'm a big fan of torrents too.

I'm of similar opinion to yours, in either case I have never observed an ESP32 to suffer wear issues.
The data itself is stored on the external memory card. So even if the device breaks, the data is saved. Some memory cards advertise a life span of 20 years for usage in surveillance cams.
Last but not least, this should be an optional feature. Maybe a warning can be added. The miner itself will only use one of the CPUs (has two of them) so I'm curious to see how it would react with less one CPU available.

I'm a big fan of blossom myself, that is certainly a must-have.
Storage is 32 GB maximum with an external SD card. Good enough for a few million publications but a bit smallish with pics or videos.

First because it was something unknown beyond the usual gov groups, cybersec researchers and criminals.
Second, you'd have to mine it. There were no exchanges, no value foreseen for that piece that might as well be a botnet by the way it was eating CPU.
Third, you'd have to keep it. When it spiked to 30 USD most people sold it. Eventually the majority moved to Monero a few years later to get away from that fed coin.

In good reality, "crypto" has its original Latin meaning in "to hide" or later as "encrypted".
When any given type of digital coins can't be kept private from others, then they shouldn't be called crypto currency.
And then we come into the other important distinguishing characteristic for a cryptocurrency: mining.
Mining has the goal of a fair distribution to as many users as possible to keep the network unbiased and fair. When a digital coin claims to be mined but then in practice only chinese farms instead of home users can mine it, that is effectively not a crypto currency either, it something elitist that isn't reachable for normal people.
Then there is the word "coin".
Which relates to using the virtual object as someone would use coins to buy things and pay to others. Some of those "coins" claim to be "store of value" which is an abomination when you think about the goal of using coins. A crypto coin worthy of that name needs to be used on the real world. Buy stuff, keep it, but use it several times a year. Most of the folks here talk about crypto coins all week long and never actually buy stuff with it.
Last but not least is religion. Technology is not religion. It is sad to see religious ignorance taking place instead of the technological power that created these things in the first place.
There is one coin that deserves to be truly called a cryptocurrency, a coin coin that governments will never support but that is always there to support you, the people. One day everyone here will understand why.

Flipper is a fun and expensive toy, but just that. You ain't missing much but really good platform and flipper hardware.
That firmware is just the default. I've bought it to support lilygo in producing more of these things, I won't be using that device at all.

That sounds good. Will definitely try it out. What I do miss are shared bookmarks.
Many years ago existed del.ici.ous which allowed anyone to bookmark pages and comment/tag why they mattered, making easy for others to build a directory, vote on the high quality links and find relevant stuff.
Maybe that kind of feature you see possible, together with the option to archive that page (similar to archive.is or wayback) but this time hosted by blossom at nostr relays.
The biggest advantage on that is that people would still be able to visit dead links and download these pages to their devices for browsing offline. It is their own copy and I don't see any other product helping to that. With nostr it is easier.

Version 0.1 of Geogram for Android has been released and can be downloaded here: https://github.com/radio3-network/geogram/releases/tag/0.1
In this first version, we tested off-grid communication using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) without any pairing or manual interaction, enabling communication without the internet. Instructions for installation and testing are available on the page. At least two Android phones are required to use the local chat. Please note that these are beta versions, so they work in a very unstable manner. The next step is to add off-grid communication via Wi-Fi to transmit larger amounts of data. Summary of this initiative:
Geogram is an Android app designed to enable communication and data sharing using only the radio capabilities of regular smartphones: Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The range is short (up to 50 meters). To overcome this limitation, we use a "Pigeon Mail" system. In this system, someone collects the messages within a community and carries them in their pocket until reaching a location with internet access or where the message recipients are. Each message can be encrypted and read only by the recipient. Our goal is to create a radio-digital version of pigeon mail.

They've long been absorved by the machine. It has been that way since the protests on Wall Street against the bankers. You can bad mouth the god-awful bottle caps but USB-C as standard was a good thing. I still remember the wild-west of the 2000s when every single device had its own charger port. My drawer is full of artifacts from those days.

You don't stick to some old tech which today is a government surveillance tool just because of nostalgia. You change because we use crypto currencies to get away from that government surveillance and control in the first place.

When you look on the mining charts (where that decentralization happens), the top 4 mining pools control +80% of what is accepted as a transaction. To remember, you only need 51% to technically break the system so it is NOT the most decentralized system out there.

From my own experience, would tend to believe they are good-willed for the most part albeit technically unsavvy and this hasn't changed in decades.
I think anyone here can remember the cookies flop and its impact on the internet, but there were also good things like setting up the USB-C port as default to reduce waste and internet roaming across EU without extra costs.
On this case the legislation aims for large platforms, which is unusually reasonable. Innovation tends to come from small platforms that remain safeguarded that way.
Will that regulation be effective without deep technical know-how? I think not, still remember flops like the Privacy Shield which forced US companies to host data in Europe but then permitted their technicians to perform on-site maintenance unsupervised, which basically defeated the purpose of assuring those critical infrastructure tools remained private.

Oh, but there are multiple ways to legally buy houses anonymously enough. Setup a company at some tropical island and make it the house owner. Good luck trying to uncover the owners for an offshore company.
Or, use a surrogate person that will own properties on your behalf. You'd be suprised how many homeless people are owners of properties on their name without even imagining. If that's too risky, then do a contract with a reputable law firm and have them own the property on your behalf as trust fund holders.
Plenty of methods suited to all tastes and budgets. But I really see just about zero people using coin joining or any other convoluted method in the real world. They'll just wire monero to cut costs with commissions or risk of losing their money at some shady place.

Maybe in your country this would be a problem, around here it isn't. The only sideffect is that legally you have to offer the neighbors the chance of buying a house/land for the public price you are selling.

Around here in Portugal you find plenty of people using monero. I'd certainly accept it for large transactions.
To be quite frank, wouldn't accept any other crypto right now unless it is stable and private.
