My argument "pro" AI, particularly when it comes to serious applications like journalism and science, is that it reveals a weaknesses in current approaches.
If a homework, "proof of skill" or publication paper can be written by AI, it can't be that significant. Or the process for checking it can't be that good. Or if it can be useful, it's just not worth doing that by hand anymore.
And yes, that's destroying an industry to some degree.
Doesn't solve the licensing/Art question though.

#python I have a data storage problem. I have a dict with basic data types that I want to save and load.
I don't want json because that messes with the numbers / strings.
I don't want to setup sqlite.
I want
save(fn,my_data)
data=load(fn)
What are your recommendations?

It is 4pm, after a (now treated) headache, 6 hours of coding, throwing away 2 days of work and redoing them from scratch, I feel like I am finally awake and can now tackle the next 4-6 hours of coding.
And finally get something done. 🤣
Also, I am growing increasingly convinced that I just don't get things until I've done them from scratch at least three times.

#indiedev #gamedev played some AoE2 for research purposes.
It's really interesting how basic many ideas in it are and how chaotic it is.
And how automated some behaviors are and which ones. Sometimes that's creating interesting chaos.
Some things are purposefully de-automated.
It's really a shame there is so little experimenting going on in the #RTS space.
