Just got a press release from MG that fresh price cuts have put the MG4 51 Excite at $42,990 NZD ($25,611 USD) and they've increased the warranty to ten years or 250k km.
I mean a TEN YEAR warranty on the battery?! That ain't bad, especially considering Facebook 'experts' tell me EV batteries have to be replaced every 3 years. 😂

Holy cow. This battery-powered SUV from Chinese manufacturer Li Mega has a 102 kWh battery (range of around 600 km (372 miles) and has been demonstrated charging from 10% to 80% in under 11 mins, hitting 521 kW peak.

Took the BYD Dophin for a blast to Opononi for dolphiny reasons.
To save you a click: $49k after rebate, 427 WLTP range, around 400 in the real world.
Tyres aren't great but it has *many* toys included in the price. Very comfortable, but handling suffers a little on rough roads.
Plenty of awful jokes in this video for those who can tolerate my nasally voice. I know I can't.

Each subframe mount for the EV conversion has to be meticulously created to fit 5 different angles because every corner of the Austin Allegro engine bay is a different shape. Makes things complicated, but look at this removeable mount. Even before tidying it up its a work of art.

The financial savings of driving electric cars are great, but I wish more kiwis talked about climate change & the importance of carbon reduction. It's a big deal.
Regularly I see New Zealand discussions about "What car should I buy" never mentioning Climate Change, as if it'll go away if we ignore it.
I mean, do you have kids or grandkids? If you do, do you like them? Do you want them to have food and water when they're 50?
Sounds hyperbolic, but it's not, if you listen to climate scientists.

One big culture shock I experienced when living in the USA was how having candy for breakfast was normal.
These things are up to 35% sugar. It baffled me at how normal it is to eat a bowl of confectionary each morning. No Americans I asked seemed bothered.
