oblong industries - the people who did the original multiscreen demo for Minority Report built a thing called Mezzanine that let you move video around a room full of screens using a Wii wand. The idea being that you build a war room full of screens and collaborate in it.
Splendidly satirized in the most recent Slow Horses series.

I got an updated router from Virgin Media last week and the config app was trying to police what password I could set for my home network.
Fortunately they did it in an SPA so I could set a breakpoint and allow the typeable one I wanted.

The reason calling MAGA weirdos weird works is Wilhoit's law:
“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”
If you tell them they're the out-group their entire worldview collapses and they imagine what it would be like if they were on receiving end of habitual cruelty.

the Twitter inferred gender had the same problems. The entire point of it is ad targeting, so it is deciding whether to sell you cars and videogames if male or homewares and makeup if female, as it is a stereotype fitting machine that only cares about your gender as a marketing proxy
