Techno-Elitism (did I just coin that?) need to be talked about more. People program like everyone has 16GB of RAM, mix sound like everyone has 5.1 channel audio, master HDR like everyone has a home theatre, and design websites like everyone has unlimited fiber.

So I get why dialup modems sent tones through the telephone line, but why did they have to have a speaker too? Whose idea was it that customers would want to hear indecipherable screeching the whole time they used the internet?

Valentine’s Day is actually awful. If you’re single, you’re constantly reminded about it. World’s biggest FOMO day.
If you’re in a relationship, you get price-gouged on cards, flowers, chocolate, etc.
It literally drives up the suicide rate if you look at the data. We actually need to stop this.

I love the Internet Archive, but they made some really bad decisions. You can’t just give away copyrighted books to everyone with no limits because you’re a “library” and it’s a “national emergency.”
Even if they survive the lawsuit, we need a better way to archive stuff. The Internet Archive is a single point of failure, and besides that it’s a ridiculously slow website anyway.
Does anyone have ideas for an alternative?
