and I am now home.
11 hours on trains, didn't reach my destination at all.
departed after 8am this morning from London Euston, First Class to Glasgow, an almost empty carriage.
the other passender was David Tennant.
our train was cancelled in Preston, halfway to Glasgow, and nowhere near the motorway... trees have fallen on the electrical lines ahead of us, we can go no further.
I finally summon the courage to say thank you to David Tennant for being so visibly in support of trans people. he goes towards where the coaches will collect people "as soon as we can organise them", but I chat to the train people who say "we've seen the pics, there won't be trains tomorrow"... so I turn around and get back on the train.
the train will go to London... but not for a while.
eventually the train leaves, it's going to stop everywhere... it will be slow.
but it stops in Wolverhampton, as all trains on that line to London have been cancelled due to a "customer incident on the line near Watford Junction"... which we all believe means a suicide attemp, we don't mind waiting.
the wait goes into hours, and then we're told in the strongest terms, go to Birmingham and catch another train via a different line.
so.... Wolverhampton to Birmingham New Street via a local line, a walk over to Moor St, a Chilterns train to Marylebone.
except, signal failures on the line, we halt North West of London... the signals have failed, because the line is flooded.
the trains are "manually signalled", and we proceed at a crawl.
11 hours, to go nowhere, and to have everything fail.
but hey, I got to say thank you to David Tennant for being ace to trans people :trans_heart:

As in, you know, a plot of land with a hedge around the edge, mostly grass and mud, on a hill somewhere.
Am thinking of buying a field.

at some point I'm going to have to update my work profile pics. it's only a year or so old, but it's very masculine. I chose it as it was a good photo, not a good photo of me, just a good photo, which is the least worst photo really... but now it's alien, I just do not look like that.
my hair is longer, my glasses have changed, my style has changed, it's not yet a woman, but it's definitely not a man, it's a third thing, more femme, part masc, and the old pic doesn't show that, the old pic is far from that.

I got banned from telegram yesterday.
I did not know this was a thing.
End to end encrypted, but yet I sent a nude, a very attractive one too, and it's very clearly of an adult (it's me, I'm old), an hour later with no other interactions going on and only really chatting to 1 person on there and with few contacts, my account was banned.
The experience is odd, web telegram only shows last line said, and you find yourself signed out of the app. Try to sign in and it says the telephone number is banned.
End to end encrypted should cover everything. If you can be banned for something pleasure related, legal, consenting... Then there are no protections, and no safety for being queer and fun.
Reminder that Signal exists, is properly secure, and that it soon (now in beta) supports username sharing rather than phone number sharing.
Privacy is the bedrock of democracy, but it's also the very basis by which LGBTQIA+ people can be safe... And secure communication is required for privacy.

something I've learned from looking at women's clothes online...
women are seriously tracked / stalked across the internet by companies.
I use nextdns.io and block a lot of trackers, marketing things, malware... and I use NoScript with Firefox.
as a man shopping for men's stuff... the internet works with all shield's up.
as a woman shopping for women's stuff... the internet does not work as well.
there is so much synchronous tracking that blocks women's clothing websites from working, I must temporarily allow 10-20 domains and so many JavaScript files served from AWS, just to get the pics on a page to render fully, let alone to be able to search for things.
it's virtually impossible to interact with a women's clothing store with shields up, and to have it work.
the $$$ spent on marketing within clothes shopping clearly optimises fully towards women... men aren't even a concern... so the stalking of women by companies who want a slice of their spend, it's crazy
