I would like to propose that we change the “like” button from a heart ❤️ to an eyeball 👁️
I think there’s a utility in the button to acknowledge that you saw a persons post/comment whatever. But sometimes it’s just not zap worthy. I don’t want to be forced to either zap or ignore someone’s note.
There’s a middle ground that I personally find useful.
Not to mention that not all user are technologically savvy enough to have a zap wallet and even if you are some clients are still unreliable with zaps.
Just make it an eyeball and we can all live happily ever after ✨

I get that there are some things that are needed to make bitcoin scale to the point that 7 billion people can self custody a utxo. And I’m happy that people are working on it.
Vaults are definitely not a necessary change though. Bitcoin works without them. The fact that satoshis coins haven’t been hacked and held in an older, less secure address type are proof that what we have works. Vaults are indeed a shiny toy, and a solution to a problem that only a small portion of users experience, and one can be solved some other way without altering the base layer.
I am however all for improving lighting functionality. I just feel that there isn’t an immediate need to shove a fix into the code base. OP_cat / CTV / whatever are all worth pursuing. And maybe one day when they’ve been working on testnet for 10 years with no issues we can implement them.
I get that you probably know a lot more about the nuts and bolts of btc than me. But if you’re asking the daily active users what they want from bitcoin. I’m willing to bet 99.9% will say they just don’t want it to break.

It only got optimized for virtualization in the latest release!
I’m sure you could have done it before but maybe just not without some bonus tinkering. Anyway it’s working super good for me now on a Debian server. The only weird thing is with connecting to Zeus it shows that the CL-rest option is deprecated… not sure what they would drop that but it’s still working for now 🤷‍♂️

I remember my first day messing around on astral ninja when everything was clunky, relays were unreliable, and few people could even figure out how to use it. 80 bucks for an optiplex honestly still is not bad, as long as it comes with an i5 or better (gen 7 and up ideally) and has at least some ram and storage included. The Lenovo’s I like to run are the M75q. That’s the best price-to-performance imo. But most any model will work for just running a node or a few lightweight virtual machines. That goes for dell, lenovo, or even HP

The “mother lode” is what they call the whole gold bearing area of the sierras in CA. Basically all the foothills from the Rubicon down to Yosemite.
