SSHFS in my case. It lets me browse files with Nautilus. But more than a question of security, it was far more reliable than SMB, whose large transfers all too often failed.

Linux Mint is based on Ubuntu, which is itself based on Debian… so you might as well use Debian directly with GNOME, it will be much better 🙂

Ça sera surtout la présence d'outils et de bibliothèques dans les dépôts pour le développement d'applications utilisant l'IA.
Ce n'est pas demain qu'on aura des environnements de bureau et des applications utilisateur qui en feront usage.
Et c'est bien dommage. Rien que pour l'accessibilité, ça pourrait faire des merveilles : reconnaissance et synthèse vocale de bien meilleure qualité pour les malvoyants, sous-titrage de tous les flux vidéo pour les malentendants…

What I find most annoying about the current version is that you can't write 25000 yens to euros in the shell. You have to know the currency codes and write 25000 JPY to EUR ☹️
I'm well aware that some currencies have the same name (American, Canadian, Australian dollars, etc.), but since other equivalent proprietary software can handle this situation, there must be a suitable solution 🤔

Criticizing Fedora or its users won't solve the problem. On the other hand, convincing your government or company to fund free software will improve accessibility much faster.
When you see what the GNOME project has already been able to achieve with a million euros from the Sovereign Tech Fund, you can only dream of what they could do with a more regular influx of money.
There's no miracle: to solve major problems, you need full-time paid developers.

Linux distributions should limit themselves to only offering an operating system and no longer deal with (graphical) user applications. Especially now that we have Flatpak.
This would give them more resources to increase the support life of their distributions, which would undoubtedly be much more useful.
