Quotations from various texts, selected for interest and consideration, usually offered without additional comment. In all but a few cases, they will be quotes I have read directly, and not passed on from a random internet source.

While some quotes refer to man or men for the historical reason that most authors until quite recently were men, writing for men, many of those apply equally to women.

@npub1qgg…pvfw Hmmm... he does seem decidedly incurious about the world which definitely limits concerns about the future or past. But as narcissistic as his actions appear, I think he does at least recognize others because he needs them to be subjugated to himself – they don't seem to serve any other purpose. When others go against him, his response is generally (always?) to exact revenge, to put them in their place (beneath him). It is pretty brutish and seems an awful way to live.

@npub1qgg…pvfw I've been thinking about your post (the recapitulation of your 2016 Facebook query) on and off for the past week.
You asked (not sure if it was rhetorical), "Am I missing an obscure moral system to which he so much as nods?"
It seems to me the answer lies in whether the precondition for any moral system (even enlightened self-interest) is recognizing that others have a claim on you. This is an area where Trump seems wholly deficient. Only adulation or groveling matters.

@npub1skv…aky3 Call me a skeptic, but Principle 3 going from "combinations of genes contribute to social behavior" and "social factors modify the expression of genes" to "Thus all of 'nurture' is ultimate expressed as 'nature' " seems quite a heavy lift.
If I vibrate the air so that you hear "May I have a glass of water?" though all of your actions are embedded in the world of the laws of physics, there is no explanation from those laws to your giving me a refreshing beverage.

If we are honest with ourselves, I think most of us were just looking for Fox executives and major studio figures to have to take the stand and be forced to give testimony to show themselves as the monstrously crappy people they seem to be, followed by blinding themselves with the computer chips from Dominion voting machines, a la Oedipus, as they recognize the heinousness of their offenses.
Is that really too much to ask of the legal system?
