Trump's nominee to run the Department of Defense, the eminently qualified weekend FOX News anchor, Pete Hegseth, is under increased scrutiny just says after he was nominated. Why, you ask? Oh, just a little allegation of sexual misconduct from 2017. You would think that would come up in a basic background search prior to making a nomination to a major cabinet position in a Presidential cabinet. But we all know Trump cares more about image and loyalty than actual competence or quaifications. The transition team was scrambling on Thursday when news broke. Trump's incoming chief of staff, Susie Wiles, was told about the allegations and this led to Wiles and at least one lawyer speaking directly to Hegseth about the allegations. The incident is reported to have taken place in Monterey, California in 2017 when Hegseth "acted inappropriately" with a woman. Hegseth claims that the incident was actually a "consensual encounter." Hegseth's lawyer, Timothy Parlatore (who I am 99% sure was also a Trump lawyer at one time) put out a statement basically denying the whole thing: “This allegation was already investigated by the Monterey police department and they found no evidence for it.”read more

Donald Trump has created an outside advisory department called "Department of Government Efficiency", which will be run by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy. The purpose? To cut back on government waste and spending. Ironic, since Elon is one of the (if not the) richest man in the world and Vivek is a millionaire. But you know, they understand what us regular people need. Anyhow, it has come out that one of the areas they plan to focus on is VETERANS HEALTHCARE. Yes, those greedy, needy, evil veterans who served our country and just need healthcare, mental health services, dental and vision care. Screw them veterans! So why are they adding veterans healthcare to the list? Well, Vivek is proposing that federal programs "without congressional authorization" be cut. That would include veterans healthcare, NASA and early education programs. Damn them kids too! Some of the confusion stems from the fact that these programs have to get reapproved or go through reappropriations or legislation, which is what happens normally. In fact, the Veterans’ Health Care Eligibility Reform Act of 1996 actually expired in 1998, but still receives about $120 billion in funding each year. Maybe Vivek was talking out of his a** and just didn't know what programs he was talking about. That is me being generous. Most likely he DOES know and just does not care. Melania Trump didn’t join her husband, President-elect Donald Trump, at the White House on Wednesday for his meeting with President Joe Biden and rejected an invitation from first lady Jill Biden. Elon Musk's artificial intelligence seems to have gone into business for itself, labeling Musk as one of the worst offenders when it comes to spreading misinformation online. Via Fortune: User Gary Koepnick asked the AI which person spreads the most information on Twitter/X—and the service did not hesitate in pointing a finger at its creator. “Based on various analyses, social media sentiment, and reports, Elon Musk has been identified as one of the most significant spreaders of misinformation on X since he acquired the platform,” it wrote, later adding “Musk has made numerous posts that have been criticized for promoting or endorsing misinformation, especially related to political events, elections, health issues like COVID-19, and conspiracy theories. This was immediately challenged and in December 2023, Dane County Circuit Court Judge Diane Schlipper ruled that the ban applied only to feticide from someone other than the mother and did not apply to abortions. This ruling was then appealed until it ended up in front of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Those in favor of the law strictly argued that the law is the law and were not at all concerned whether it was even a just law. While those opposed to the ban argued that it was unenforceable because it was so poorly written and because over the generations, other laws concerning abortions superseded the old law. Just as a reminder, over the last few months of his frenetic campaign, Trump promised tariffs of 25%, 60%, 100% and 200%. Who knows where or what he will tariff!! It is a big surprise! Like when you bite into a chocolate chip cookie and realize the chocolate chips are actually raisins - not a good surprise. If Trump blankets all imports from, say, China or Mexico, that would be bad. They are some of our biggest trading partners for goods that span auto parts, food and day-to-day goods and sundries. Rep. Matt Gaetz resigned from Congress almost as soon as he was named as Donald Trump’s ludicrously terrible choice for attorney general. To be clear, Gaetz is horribly ill-qualified for the job. Also, unqualified. As far as I can tell, the guy Felonious Trump wants to put in charge of our American justice system has never been a prosecutor. But we know why Felon 45/47 wants him. He’ll serve as a loyalty stress-test for Republican senators and, if confirmed, he’ll almost certainly carry out the retribution Trump longs for. Rep. Matt Gaetz resigned from Congress almost as soon as he was named as Donald Trump’s ludicrously terrible choice for attorney general. To be clear, Gaetz is horribly ill-qualified for the job. Also, unqualified. As far as I can tell, the guy Felonious Trump wants to put in charge of our American justice system has never been a prosecutor. But we know why Felon 45/47 wants him. No sooner did I say that Ol' Pornstache himself, Eric Hovde, had to shit or get off the pot by either conceding or asking for a recount, that he replied by standing up and shitting himself. In an almost five minute long video, the California carpetbanker launched into his own version of the Big Lie. Among his baseless accusations was that the City of Milwaukee had a late night "ballot dump" of 108,000 ballots and that they were highly suspect because they were mostly Democratic. He also went on to say he was on track to win until that ballot dump. While it is true that the absentee ballots did not get reported until 4 am, it was well reported that they weren't going to finish the count until the wee hours on Wednesday because Republicans in the state legislature refused to pass a law allowing election clerks to start counting all those absentee ballots until Tuesday morning. So, if he wants to gripe, blame his fellow Republicans. And no, it's not surprising that the second largest Democratic bastion in the state would vote mostly Democratic. Maybe if Hovde was from Wisconsin, he would have known that. And thirdly, Republican operatives were saying throughout the night that they were concerned that Hovde did not have a large enough lead to withstand the late votes coming in from Milwaukee. read more

No sooner did I say that Ol' Pornstache himself, Eric Hovde, had to shit or get off the pot by either conceding or asking for a recount, that he replied by standing up and shitting himself. In an almost five minute long video, the California carpetbanker launched into his own version of the Big Lie. Among his baseless accusations was that the City of Milwaukee had a late night "ballot dump" of 108,000 ballots and that they were highly suspect because they were mostly Democratic. He also went on to say he was on track to win until that ballot dump. While it is true that the absentee ballots did not get reported until 4 am, it was well reported that they weren't going to finish the count until the wee hours on Wednesday because Republicans in the state legislature refused to pass a law allowing election clerks to start counting all those absentee ballots until Tuesday morning. So, if he wants to gripe, blame his fellow Republicans. And no, it's not surprising that the second largest Democratic bastion in the state would vote mostly Democratic. Maybe if Hovde was from Wisconsin, he would have known that. During the campaign, California banker Eric Hovde kept telling Wisconsinites that he would accept the election results, even if he lost. It's starting to look like just another one of the many lies Hovde tried to tell voters. The election was a week ago and the results are in. Senator Tammy Baldwin won reelection by almost 30,000 votes. The Associated Press called it in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. Baldwin gave her acceptance speech. Also on Wednesday, Hovde issued a short statement that they were carefully monitoring to make sure every vote was counted. Since then, nothing. Nada. Zilch. No concession or anything. Not even a call for a recount. It's like Laguna Beach fell into the ocean or something. For all the bravado and machismo he tried to present with during the weekend, he turned out to be a big, old wussy. As mentioned above, per Wisconsin law, Hovde is close enough to ask for a recount. However, he is not close enough to have the taxpayers pay for it. But after dropping tens of millions of his own dollars on the race, he's probably reluctant to throw away even more money. And it would be throwing it away. As the counties are finalizing their canvassing, there has been very little change in the numbers. Certainly not enough to change the outcome. Hovde needs to man up and either call for a recount or do the smart thing for once and just concede. In other words, it's time to shit or get off the pot, dude. WLNS reported that the flags were seen in two cities, including at a Jewish play. Lake has called for the imprisonment of those who accepted the orange aberration's defeat in 2020, and now she lost to Ruben Galleo, who isn't an asshole.
